HOW DO I POST SOME WRITING?

After you have logged in, go to the HOMEPAGE. There are four sections sections offered: WRITINGS (for creative writing of any sort), INSPIRATIONS (words of wisdom, advice on writing, anything that might give us a reason to write), BOOKS (your book, Sahaj books, any book or script or blog or essay or poem you want to tell us about) and IDEAS & DREAMS (what should we be writing about, propose an idea, describe a goal, dream big).

  • Click the section you want.

  • Click on Create a new post

  • Write a title.

  • Add your words.

  • Click on Publish.

HOW DO I EDIT OR DELETE MY WORDS?

  • If you wish to change anything you have written in a post or comment or even delete the entire thing, just click on the three vertical dots at the top of the entry. You will see seven options, including Edit and Delete.

WHO ELSE IS USING THIS FORUM?

  • Click on MEMBERS at the top of any page.

  • Click on a name to find out about that person.

  • See who they are following and who are following them.

  • Click on Forum posts to see what they have written.

  • If you follow a member, you will be alerted by email when they post something new.

HOW DO I EDIT MY OWN PROFILE?

  • Click on your photo icon wherever you see it throughout the website. Or click on MEMBERS at the top of any page and find yourself.

  • As much as you want to know about the others, they want to know about you. Add some details to your profile, some dreams, some hopes. It's not a resume, so have fun. (You can add to or edit your profile at any time.)

  • Add a mugshot and a background image. Decorate.

HOW DO I ADD A COMMENT?

  • If you have something to say about somebody else's words (and it's something nice or constructive or inspiring), look for the box at the bottom of the page that contains your photo icon. (You have to be logged in to see this.) Look for the words "Write a comment..." Add your two cents and click on Publish

  • You can come back and edit or delete any hastily made comment if you have second thoughts.

  • When you add a comment, the author is alerted by email. Then they know to come and have a look at what you have said.

  • If you want to follow the entire conversation thread that grows from the post, click on the three vertical dots near the top. Choose "Follow post." Sometimes this can get really interesting. (If it doesn't, you can unfollow at any time.)

WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN LIKE AND FOLLOW?

  • If you click the heart at the foot of any post, you send some love to the author. That feels good for both of you.

  • If you click on the three vertical dots at the top of any posting, you find a secret place. Here you can follow, share or report. When you follow, you will be alerted by email when anyone else adds a comment to that page. It's like saying, "Keep me in the conversation."

  • If you really like something a lot, you can share it with others. The social media links are there for ou to use.

  • You can also follow an author and see everything they write. Go to the roster of members by clicking MEMBERS at the top of any page. Click on Follow to follow any individual person. You will be alerted by email when they add something new. You can also Unfollow if you change your mind.

HOW DO I FIND SOMETHING?

  • At the top of any of the white container boxes that hold the writings and other posts, there is a magnifying glass. You can search for a name, a word or a string of words.

  • Next to the search tool is a link to the members page.

  • There is also a bell that links to a list of new posts and comments, things you might have missed.

  • The fourth item is you, a link to your profile. Find out about yourself. Edit your profile.

WHAT ELSE IS THERE FOR ME TO SEE?

  • At the top of any page you will see three interesting links: ADVICE, FIRST LINES and FICTION.

  • ADVICE is a collection of words from Shri Mataji Nirmala Devi on the topic of writing and the arts. There is also some words of advice from some well known authors, including the two Williams: Shakespeare and Wordsworth.

  • FIRST LINES offers some opening sentences from famous novels, each an invitation to read on.

  • FICTION has some ideas of what Sahaj Fiction might aspire to become.

WHY ARE WE DOING ALL THIS?

  • By sharing our writing and our ideas and inspirations, we can become better writers.

  • By taking a risk and offering a sample of what you are up to, you may find new inspiration and a generous helping of support

  • At the very least, this website will let you to know what other Sahaj writers are up to. And that can be good.
